WHY OVER 40, WHY ME AND WHY NOW?
I’m Bruce Caines, a boudoir photographer in Upper Manhattan. I work with women of all ages, shapes, and backgrounds. I have over 40 years of experience as a fashion, beauty, advertising and editorial portrait photographer.

Boudoir photography is more than just taking pictures in lingerie. It’s a way to express yourself, love yourself, and heal yourself. And it’s always fun! Whenever I talk to people about my boudoir work, (potential clients or curious humans) I always talk about the experience. The experience both for the client and me. Whenever I do a session, there is ALWAYS a moment when I can literally see in their eyes, a change. A sense of comfort and confidence. Of being seen. Of pure connection with themself. It happens every single shoot. It is a powerful moment for us both.

During the reveal session, when clients see their photos, often, there is an audible gasp. “Oh!” or “Wow…I can’t believe that’s me!” Sometimes it's silence and tears. One client brought her girlfriend with her to the reveal. Tears were streaming down her face. I was really moved. “I’ve never seen myself like that,” she said between sobs. Her friend said, “Honey! This is how we tell you we see you all the time!”

Now at my reveals, there are always TWO boxes of tissues on the table!
